BACK TO SCHOOL MESSAGE

School will resume September 8, 2009 with a full day.

Dear Parents/Guardian,

I hope you have had an enjoyable summer and are ready to send your children back to us well rested and ready for a new school year. September is a time for new beginnings. Unlike people in business and industry, educators have the luxury of a new start each Fall and for me there is something special about the opening of a new school year.

Our students come back to us a year older, a year wiser and represent all that is good with the world. The proverbial slate is wiped clean, providing learners the prime opportunity to refocus, renew and reinvent their journey to adulthood.

We want all children to learn because they can. We want every child to be successful because we know that he or she wants to be. We want all children to be prepared for the next grade level or course because we know they must be.

Mannington’s curriculum is driven by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and provides stepping stones for a lifetime of learning and challenges. Delivered through a balanced, research based, innovative and traditional learning environment, our programs allow students to develop their strengths, discover unique talents and become responsible citizens.

The high quality of our school is enhanced by you, the families in the community we serve. To some extent, the school can only take partial credit for our level of student achievement. A large measure of the credit goes to you, the parents and our community that value and support learning. You are your children’s first and most important teachers. You have high expectations for the school and your children’s performance, and we applaud and welcome those expectations. Our teaching, administrative, and support staff look forward to working with you during the 2009-2010 school year to meet these goals.

Sincerely,

Dr. Walter Uszenski

Superintendent of Mannington
